Hello Neighbors,

With thanks to the good Lord for some truly spectacular weather, I wanted to take a moment and congratulate you all for making such a fine and fun day of our Annual Picnic down at Shipyard yesterday. Think we hit 150? You and yours seemed to have quite a fine time and all the kids – little and big – played right up till sundown lights out around 7 pm. The generators were not the only things that ran out of gas by the time we hit the air horn for the last time but what a fantastic reminder of how a neighborhood that is celebrating its 4th decade can once again be so filled with the boundless joy and energy young people playing full on can bring. I’m sure the local wildlife also enjoyed their scrambled egg dinner last night out in the grass as much as we enjoyed all those burgers n dogs, fantastic salads and positively overwhelming array of dessert items. I think we put the Biblical story about the loaves and the fishes to flight.

For those of you who brought food but may have noticed by now that the cherished platter, bowl or serving spoon has gone MIA, all these items can be claimed by contacting our Association Past President and yesterday’s Guest of Honor, Mr. Tom Poor. Tom can be reached at either tpoor43@aol.com or by phone at 781 826 2792. To whomever left a shovel, that is also up at Tom’s – we’ll assume that utensil was not for one of the desserts or salads.

Finally, you’ll get a more formal reminder in the coming days but while I might still have your eye dear reader, make a note – our next Association event is our “Tis the Season! Social”, Friday, November 12th from 6-8 pm at Tinker’s Son in Norwell Center. Hope you can join us make a little bit of a statement at Tink’s. If you made the last one you know what I am talking about. If not, trust me, getting us all together in one place is a beautiful reminder that as eclectic a group of neighbors we may be in many ways, we clearly have at least one thing in common: we really know how to have a good time.

As always, any of us on this year’s board welcome your input, anytime, about anything on your mind. Our next board meeting is the 26th of October so if you have something you wish brought up at that meeting, give one of us a shout and we will speak to it on your behalf.

Enjoy the arrival of fall this week – hope to see you out and about. Seeing all those fine young people gathered yesterday compels me to remind us all to please continue to drive with love, 20 really is plenty.

Warmly,

Your Board, working for you.
